Wondertree

Restaurant Auckland International Airport (NZ) 2018-2019 The Wondertree tenancy is a 266sqM site on the upper level, with 9 metre high ceilings and views across the airstrip. Wondertree is a franchise for ELR and as such the custodian designers completed the concept design in the UK. It was then my teams responsibility to take their concept and complete detail documentation, working with New Zealand and ELR’s standards and locally match all FF&E. Detail design and sourcing had to be completed within 4 weeks and work to a specific budget. The design is organic with multiple finishes, fabrics and colours. I worked with local structural engineers on the design for the feature tree arches and canopy to ensure the design intent was achieved yet it was economical and negated the need for changes to the fire engineering system and additional structural reinforcements below.
